Lauryn "Lo" Jackson
Acro, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary
Lauryn Jackson or also known as "Miss Lo" has been dancing since the age of 14. Joining Mountain View High School's dance program as a freshman, she'd fallen in love with dance and how happy it had made her feel. During her junior year of high school, she joined MVHS's pomline team and became one of the captains the following year. Lauryn was also a teacher assistant for an intermediate class level as a company dancer under MVHS's very finest, Julie Andrews. As a TA for class, Lo was required to choreograph and set a piece for the annual fall and spring shows. This sparked her interest in choreography and telling stories through dynamic pieces of music- she would always feel accomplished with every 8-count since it was done with purpose!
Lauryn's 2.5 years on pomline really expanded her training and knowledge of dance. With competing in Tucson and Phoenix, she grew into a dancer that made 14 year old Lauryn so proud! Having special choreographers come in from the Phoenix Suns dance team and UA pomline to choreograph competition routines was eye opening and so excited for her! As a captain, she wanted to learn more about the importance of performing with fierceness but still keeping it clean and sharp.
As Miss Lo enters her 20s, her passion for dance keeps growing stronger as her dance career at DDC begins. Her favorite styles of dance are pom, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. When she isn't teaching or dancing, Miss Lo is most likely with her cats, watching a new season of a binge worthy show, or starting a new hobby!
Miss Lo is so excited to be apart of the DDC faculty and is grateful to be in such an uplifting dance environment.
